Calf and Pectoral Implants

Medical implants to increase volume and reshape muscles, bringing harmony and tone to the body.

Definition

Body implants are prosthetics designed to increase volume and reshape muscles where exercise or natural body shape is not enough. Calf and pectoral implants are the most common, used by men and some women for aesthetic or reconstructive purposes.

Calf Implants (Calf Augmentation)

Goals

  • Increase calf volume and enhance muscle definition
  • Correct a calf that is too thin or asymmetrical
  • Harmonize the shape of the legs, especially after illness or congenital disorder
  • Give the leg a toned and athletic appearance

Indications

  • Calves considered too thin despite exercise
  • Congenital or acquired asymmetry
  • Polio, clubfoot, traumatic after-effects
  • Aesthetic reasons for more shapely legs

Technique

  • General anesthesia or spinal anesthesia
  • Duration: 1h30 to 2h
  • Small incision behind the knee (popliteal fold)
  • Insertion of a soft silicone implant under the muscle fascia
  • Unilateral or bilateral implant depending on the need

Post-operative recovery

  • Wearing compression stockings for 4 to 6 weeks
  • Walking resumed after a few days
  • Return to sports activities after 6 to 8 weeks

Results

  • Shapely, symmetrical, and well-proportioned calves
  • Final result visible after 2–3 months
  • Discreet scar, hidden in the knee fold

Pectoral Implants (Pectoralplasty)

Goals

  • Achieve a muscular and sculpted chest
  • Correct a lack of muscle development despite exercise
  • Correct a chest deformity (e.g., Poland syndrome)
  • Enhance the masculine upper body contour

Indications

  • Hypotrophy or congenital absence of the pectoral muscle
  • Flat torso despite regular physical activity
  • Asymmetrical muscle development
  • Desire for a more virile and sculpted torso

Technique

  • General anesthesia
  • Duration: approximately 2 hours
  • Axillary incision (under the armpit) for invisible scar
  • Insertion of a cohesive silicone gel implant under the pectoralis major muscle
  • Implants that are firm yet soft to the touch

Post-operative recovery

  • Physical rest for 10 to 15 days
  • Gradual return to sport after 6 to 8 weeks
  • Wearing a chest compression garment for 3 to 4 weeks

Results

  • More virile, muscular and harmonious bust
  • Natural result to the touch and to the eye
  • Invisible scar (hidden under the armpit)
  • Long-lasting and stable result over time
